As COVID 19 cases are under controlled in part of the world, some countries are now lifting border restriction to resume business activities. While we are one step closer on traveling, be sure to read through our COVID 19 travel guide below in ensuring your own safety on your next journey to the world!
Access control at the terminal buildings of Hong Kong International Airport is being implemented. Until further notice, only bona fide passengers with a valid air ticket or boarding pass for a flight in the next 24 hours and a valid travel document will be allowed to enter the terminal buildings. Passengers are reminded to arrive at the airport three hours before their departure time for relevant checks at the designated access control checkpoints equipped with 24-hour security cameras. Other members of the public, including those who may want to accompany departure passengers or receiving arrival passengers at the airport should not travel to the airport unless absolutely necessary.
In line with the government requirement, passengers must wear face masks in all indoor and outdoor public areas at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). Airport Authority Hong Kong requires that all passengers must continue to wear face masks after they enter the restricted area of HKIA for boarding. This compulsory requirement is also applicable at SkyPier and on Automated People Mover and Apron Passengers Vehicles. Passengers are advised to bring their own face masks.
Please keep at least 2 meters (approximately equal to 2 arms open) away from people around you.
According to the opinions of professional medical staff, if you have fever, cough, difficulty breathing, sore throat, taste or smell changes recently, it is not recommended to travel aboard, and please go to see doctor immediately. If you feel unwell during your trip, please do not act rashly and follow the instructions of local officials.
According to the suggestions from the professional medical staff, if you need to take the medicine consistently, it is recommended to bring enough medicine for the whole journey, keep the original packaging and label of the medicine, and bring the prescription documents. You can also consider bringing your own alcohol handrub (with an alcohol content of at least 60%) and carry it with you for easy access at any time. However, please note that some airports or airlines may have restrictions on the amount of liquid carried by passengers. Please bring non-perishable food and bottled water to deal with the closure of restaurants and shops. Similarly, some airlines have restrictions on bringing food and drinks.
Due to the continuous changes under the epidemic situation in various countries, we recommend that all passengers must call the airline or visit the airline's official website 72 hours before the flight departure to check the latest flight schedule.
In response to the latest development of the coronavirus in different countries/regions, we recommend that transit passengers check the latest airport policies of transit airports and the entry restrictions of their final destinations before purchasing air tickets.
In response to the development of the COVID-19 epidemic, a number of governments have issued entry restrictions, visa suspension services and quarantine measures to travelers. Passengers must pay attention to relevant restrictions and measures before travelling.
As restrictions may change at any time, relevant information and links are for reference only. Passengers should follow the latest information issued by the government of the destination (or flight transfer regions).
