【COVID 19 Entry Requirements Update - England】Isolation can be exempted after arriving!
Starting from 9 Jan 2022, fully vaccinated travelers can be exempt from the COVID-19 test before arrival. Travelers are required to conduct PCR Test or Lateral Flow Test one time only and complete the Passenger Locator Form while they arrived in the UK.
For those not fully vaccinated travelers, PCR Test is required on Day 2 and Day 8 of their arrival and quarantine for 10 full days.
From September 29, 2021, the Hong Kong Department of Health starts including the date of birth, gender, and the manufacturer of the vaccine to the COVID-19 vaccination record issued. Those with updated vaccination records launch from 4 a.m. on October 11, 2021. Those who have completed the approved vaccine in Hong Kong will be exempted from pre-departure testing and quarantine after arriving in England, and they only need to be tested once after arrival.
At the moment, the UK Government only approves the completion of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine in Hong Kong. To qualify under the fully vaccinated rules for travel to England, you must have proof of full vaccination with a full course of an approved vaccine. The passengers completed two doses of the approved vaccine for more than 14 days and holds an approved updated vaccination record.
If the vaccination record you have is an old version without the date of birth, you can check and download the updated version of the electronic vaccination record through the Hong Kong Government "iAM Smart" mobile application. If individuals planning to travel need to receive the updated paper records, they can also bring their original identity documents and valid travel certificates such as air tickets to the designated place to pick up the updated paper records within two weeks before departure.
